Heavy Equipment/Fleet Shop Foreman

SUMMARY

This position provides functional day to day oversight and direction of the Fleet Technicians by coordinating and prioritizing their work assignments and reviewing completed work for conformance with standards.  Creates productivity KPI’s, training and specific processes and procedures to be used to drive efficiency in job task completion in the fleet shop. Monitors shop safety procedures and recommends improvements.  Schedules preventative maintenance activities with internal departments to minimize vehicle downtime. Coordinates activities with outside vendors and service providers. Established May perform repairs as needed. Serves as the Fleet Manager in his absence. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Vocational degree/certificate in automotive maintenance, automotive engineering, diesel/heavy equipment maintenance. Five years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive/heavy equipment or mobile equipment maintenance or repair.  Prefer lead or supervisory experience in vehicle repair trade in automotive, heavy-duty truck and equipment, and/or mobile equipment maintenance. 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Georgia Driver License.  Preferred: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Automotive or Heavy-Duty Truck Technician.
