Truck Driver Job Description
Position Specifics:
Reports to: Equipment Manager
Desired Experience/Skills:
- Ability to do physical labor and tasks
- A valid CDL Class A / B license
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Ability to follow guidance and instructions
- Ability to work extended hours and some weekends
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to drive manual transmission
Purpose:
To drive over-the-road trucks to deliver equipment or materials to job site locations. Truck drivers are required to maintain a valid commercial driver’s license and DOT medical card.
Responsibilities
- Deliver equipment or materials to the job sites in a safe and timely fashion
- Load and unload materials and supplies
- Operate all equipment required to load for transportation
- Secure equipment for transport
- General maintenance of equipment and tools
- Minor equipment repairs
- Jobsite cleaning
- Frequently communicate with scheduler for pick ups and deliveries
- Observe safety codes at all times
- Report injuries and equipment damage to management
- Follow legal requirements when operating equipment and trucks
- May be required to do general office work, shop work, or housekeeping
The above listed duties require periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending and periodic lifting of heavy objects.
